Colombia pensioners visa

This visa is intended for foreigners who receive a pension or retirement from a foreign government, international organization or private company.

CONSIDERATIONS
The term is for up to three (3) years. There is no renewal. The holder must make a new application when the term expires.
The applicant must present a certificate stating the monthly payment of a life pension, not less than three (3) Minimum Legal Monthly Wages in force, issued by the competent entity, or by the consular or diplomatic mission of the country where the foreigner obtained the pension.
The applicant must provide background information from the countries where the applicant has stayed for the last three (3) years.
The applicant must obtain a medical certificate issued by a Colombian health authority or from the country of origin stating the applicant’s psychophysical aptitude.
The applicant must demonstrate that he/she has health coverage in Colombian territory or, in its place, an all-risk policy with coverage throughout the Colombian territory that covers the risks during the expected time of stay.
The visa can be extended to immediate family members (spouse, permanent partner, minor children or up to the age of 25 if they are economically dependent on the principal applicant).
If the applicant leaves the country for more than 180 days in a 365-day period, the visa expires automatically.
After holding this visa for 5 years, the applicant may apply for permanent residence in Colombia.
