Investor visa in Colombia

Aimed at foreigners who want to invest in real estate or in shares of public or private companies, who maintain the investment for the duration of the visa.

THE MAIN REQUIREMENTS:
If the applicant has invested in real estate, he/she must present the certificate of ownership of the property and the registration of the investment with the Central Bank of Colombia. The investment must be at least ninety thousand US dollars (90,000 USD).
If the applicant has invested in property titles over a company (shares) the investment must be registered with the Central Bank and must be at least one hundred and sixty thousand dollars (160,000 USD).
The applicant must present a health policy.
The visa can be extended to immediate family members (spouse, permanent partner, minor children or up to the age of 25 if they are economically dependent on the principal applicant).
Bank statements showing income of more than 700 USD per month (last six months).
The visa is valid for three years and is renewable indefinitely as long as the investment is maintained.
If the applicant leaves the country for more than 180 consecutive days in a 365-day period, the visa expires automatically.
BENEFITS
After holding this visa for 5 years, the applicant may apply for permanent residence in Colombia.
The applicant and his family can work and provide professional services in Colombia.
